D E T A I L S
Chrysanthemum parthenium, also known as feverfew is grown around the world for its medicinal properties. Lacier and less compact than garden chrysanthemums which are fiercely pruned and often dyed. Ranges in color from light pink to nearly white. Daisy-like flowers arrive in late summer and stay until late fall. Great for fall garden color and arrangements. Deer resistant.
Days to Germination: 10-21 days in temperatures of 70-75°F may be longer in cooler temperatures
Lifecycle: perennial
Sunlight: full, part sun
Height: 1-3 ft
Spread: 6-12"
Bloom time: late summer, early fall, mid fall
Special notes: Sow seeds thinly and barely press into soil. Do not cover as light aids germination.
H O W TO P L A N T
Sow seeds in fall or in spring after all danger of frost has passed. Cover lightly with soil or not at all. For spring sowing, keep soil moist throughout germination. Like most perennials, it may take one season to establish roots before flowering. Grows back year after year as well as freely self seeds, but is not aggressive. A hardy variety which winters over in our Zone 5.
